Have you started on your submission yet?

 

What?  You forgot?  Art Challuunge is back everyone!  Pass it on!  Tell your friends and enemies!  Don’t worry, you all still have until NEXT Friday to send in your PENCIL / NATURE submissions.  Maybe this weekend you might come across something in nature that reminds you of a pencil and you will immediately sketch a thumbnail or write down a clever haiku?  Maybe you will be writing with a pencil and decide to snap a photo on your cell phone and submit that?  Maybe you will happen upon a UFO crash site deep in the wilderness and you will discover that the only way to communicate with the injured aliens is to make invisible drawings in the air with an imaginary pencil, thereby triggering the laughing chemical in their brains which will instantly heal them and permit you to become their leader… write it down!  Take a picture!  Snag pics off the internet and merge em together with Photoshop or GIMP (which is free, by the way).  Sculpt something with your kids playdoh!  Make some paper mache or origami sculptures that have nothing to do with the words, only that they inspired you to do so!  Grab a sharpie and mark up your buddy that’s past out on the couch from drinkin too much caffeine free diet soda… Anything and everything is accepted!  This is between you and your creativity… get it out… let it breath… and for heaven sake, shave that thing!

Tell everybody you know: R-WAC is back!

Dear friends and family it’s official… we are BACK!  It’s been damn near a year since the last official random words art challuunge, and it’s about time we start this up again.  So, do ya want to know the story behind the death and resurrection of this site?  Well, we’ll save that for another day.  We were trying to find another forum or site to host R-WAC but decided to get it kickin off first and worry about the formalities later.  In the meantime, we will be starting this here little contest back up, right where we left off.  (At least for the time being.) 

So, in case you are new or totally forgot how this site ticks, here’s how it works:

Random Words Art Challuunge:
Open to anyone and everyone.
All forms of art or creative works are accepted.
(drawing, writing, nose goblin mosaics, sculpting, painting, spit-ball collages, etc…)
Spread the word and the community will grow.
Join the mailing list: artchalluunge@gmail.com.

1. Two words are revealed on Friday.
2. Submissions are due the following Friday by 2pm and will be posted shortly thereafter.
   (Email submissions to artchalluunge@gmail.com or just sign up to receive the notifications.)
3. Voting is open to anyone and everyone, until Tuesday.  The winner will be announced that afternoon.
4. Winner has until Friday to submit the next week’s two “random” words.
5. Go to #1 and repeat.

So this round we are going to extend it two weeks, and we reserve the right to do so for any reason what-so-ever, at any time.  Here are the next TWO week’s words for you to create from:

Andrew Johanson you are the last art challuunge winner!  The final creative bragging rights are yours!  We hope that you all have enjoyed this site as much as we have enjoyed presenting it to you.  The ideas and creativity that came about because of the Random Words Art Challuunge has both been exciting and inspirational.  Thanks to everyone that has thrown in over the years, especially those that never gave up.  It has been a true honor to share this blog with the world and all it’s challuungers. We love you all.  The time has come to say goodbye.  R-WAC is now dead as we know it.  Goodbye, friends… you will be missed very much.

WINE/HORN art is up, and an announcement…

Hello all, it is that time again.  But before we get down to this week’s art and voting, it is with great happiness and sorrow we bring you two announcements:

1. Next week’s challuunge is is the 100th challuunge here at the old R-WAC and we wanted to do something special.  So it has been decided that for next week’s words we will offer up 100 random words for you to chose from.  That’s right, you can chose one, or two or ten or all 100.  However you like to slice it.  We hope that participation goes up this week as you may have noticed it’s been a bit sparse as of late.  Which brings us to our next announcement:
2. Art challuunge will be ending after next week’s challuunge.  That’s right folks, this will be the last and final week for Art Challuunge as you have come to know it.  We are going out of business and everything must go!  So if you ever wanted to participate and create something for bragging rights or just cuz, NEXT week is the week to do it.  Let’s see if we can get the most submissions we have ever had.  Spread the word.  Send it to everyone you know and be as creative as you wanna be!  I hope you all have enjoyed R-WAC as much as we have enjoyed presenting it to you.

Art Challuunge’s 100th challuunge is coming…

That’s right folks, NEXT week’s challuunge will be our 100th Random Words Art Challuunge post.  It’s exciting how far we’ve come.  There have been ebbs and flows along the way but we have been resilient, haven’t we.  I encourage you to send this to all your friends, families and enemies and help us celebrate our 100th challuunge… let’s see if we can increase participation, eh?  Whadda ya say?
